Fall 2007 Scrum Gathering: London

Thursday, 15 November, 10.45-12.15
“Agile Estimating”
Presenter: Kenny Rubin, CST, Innolution, USA

Perhaps the most dreaded question asked any developer is "How long will this take?" No wonder we dread this question--it's fundamentally flawed. Rather than directly estimating how long something is likely to take we should really be estimating its size. "How big is this compared to that?" is a much easier question, and one that leads to more reliable plans. In this session we look at why. We explore and gain hands-on practice estimating size. Learn about story points, ideal days, and how to estimate with “Planning Poker.”
