Director, Software Development at T-Mobile USA, Inc.
June 2008-November 2011
• Led the roll-out of Agile software development practices (Scrum, XP, Lean) across a $65M program that T-Mobile has undertaken to replace the legacy enterprise applications our front-line employees use to serve our customers. • Owned inception and delivery of two software development initiatives that earned T-Mobile’s IT organization a #49 ranking in the 2009 InformationWeek Top 500 (up from #73 in 2008). One project helped reduce handset returns by 11%, reduced callbacks from dissatisfied customers and increased “extremely or very satisfied” customer feedback ratings to 99%. The other project reduced the time it took to activate a new phone from 30 minutes down to five minutes by cutting out redundant data entry--105 clicks. After just 6 months in production, the project saved $1.65 million and freed up 16,000 minutes of retail associates' time that they could use to spend with customers. • Built new IT Retail Technologies organization, whose mission it was to "Improve T-Mobile's retail business by producing innovative technologies that enhance our customer's experience." • Built and owned strategic relationships with key vendors including Adobe Systems, HP, Sun Microsystems, Avaya, Cisco, Ingenico, Xyzmo, More Direct and others.
