Dan Mezick

I am a agile teacher & coach. I have coached all kinds of teams, some starting out, others well along but now struggling. I have experience with orgs that have up to 50,000 employees.

I am a community organizer. I organize and run Agile Boston and Agile CT, which are local usergroups. I am an invited  speaker from Agile 2007, 2008 and 2009.In 2009 I served as the [ Manifesting Agility ] Stage producer for the conference.

My real passion is understanding and working with your CULTURE. That means I am super-sensitive & observant of your organization's underlying GROUND RULES. These mostly unwritten ground rules form the context for any agile adoption....accordingly this is where I pay careful attention when you engage me. I help accelerate your agile adoption by observing, listening, questioning and guiding. I help you actively notice what is happening- or NOT happening-- in your agile/Scrum adoption.  The actual "doing" of culture change is 100% up to you.

My bio found at the Agile Boston web site is becoming the central location for up-to-date information on what I am paying attention to--  and currently working on. That page has links to my recent presentations, articles & the like.

Please cut and paste the link below to get there:

Why you want to engage me:

The main reason you want to consider me for agile coaching and management consulting is my approach, which is based on observing your organization's culture. In terms of Scrum's values, I believe one size DOES fit all. The Scrum values are a non-negotiable CORE of any successful adoption. However I believe there is no standard Scrum implementation. I help you craft and tailor your own Scrum adoption...the one that fits your culture, that is also 100%  consistent with the essential Scrum values: Commitment, Focus, Openness, Respect, and Courage.

I'm not too keen on air travel these days so I focus on my local region including NY, CT, MA, RI and NH. If you are looking for a very experienced agile coach & teacher who can quickly work with CxO level management as well as your team, I am a good choice. Call me and let's talk, regardless of your location.
