I have spent the better part of my career as a champion and driver for process improvement to increase organizational efficiency.  I am notably skilled at crafting a vision, communicating it and executing it to a successful completion.  A very quick study, I can teach concepts to all levels of an organization.

Most recently I was brought in to an engineering organization to assist with creating and driving processes that would facilitate increasing the efficiency in engineering operations. I was then introduced to Scrum because the organization was ‘researching the possibility’ of moving from a very loose ‘modified spiral’ process into the light, repeatable and dependable structure of Scrum.  I was sent for training, became certified as a Scrum Master and began to lead the grassroots effort to bring Scrum into engineering.  Upon completion of the course I came back, crafted a timeline, developed a training experience for the roles of Scrum Master and ‘Team’ and delivered a series of communication sessions, trainings and simulations for the entire engineering department, CM and other associated organizations.  All with a team consisting of the Lead Program Engineer,  a Principle Engineer and another Design Lead.

Today I would say I'm the resident Agilista and am working on developing a ‘custom adapted’ Product Owner training for my company’s specific Government business operations.  In addition to my work in process improvement, I am also a certified trainer/consultant in the area of conflict resolution and workplace mediation.  I believe my aptitude in these areas has contributed greatly to my success in leading grassroots efforts like the company-wide implementation of Scrum and other business initiatives.

On What Scrum Can and Cannot Fix
This subject is always worth re-visiting. Some of the biggest challenges I've seen in this process of moving organizations to Agile are around setting proper expectations up front, communicating the mission at all levels (even if you are a grass ...

Excellent coaching tips Mitch! What people are often ill-prepared for with a 'move to agile' are all of the organizational issues associated with a culture shift. This is organizational change and there is a big picture to this process... Andy's...
