Starting in October 2010, I left my role as operations manager and led the technology department's conversion to Scrum. I studied the books and online resources that were available. More importantly, I spent a day with our sister division, Commission Junction, that had been using Scrum for 5 years. We quickly started two teams where I filled the role of Scrum Master. In December of 2010 I attended formal Scrum Master training. Over the next 6 months we gradually formed all of the remaining developers into Scrum teams. I coached all the developers, fellow Scrum Master and Product Owners. Now, two years later, scrum has improved productivity and dramatically improved transparency in our company. I am pleased that so many early skeptics have been won over to Scrum.
