Jean-luc Bernette has been working more than 20 years in the computer software industry, in France.

During his 12-year professional experience at Cap Gemini, he had the opportunity to have different positions in software development projects. He has also been consultant in change management and organization for important clients.

Then he joined a smaller structure, a software editor, Augeo Software, as product manager inside a R&D team. He built a new product "Augeo5" (PPM software), that was first released in 2002 and evolved regularly since then, using traditional waterfall development cycle (i.e. a major version every 18 months). In 2007 he launched the online service "Planzone" (collaborative project management, www.planzone.com). This product is very different from "Augeo5", since the SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) model requires a more in-depth usability work (less experienced users, Web 2.0 interface) and a permanent collaboration with the marketing team (forum, newsletter, SEO…). But above all the development cycle is much more efficient, as Planzone is built by a Scrum team in which Jean-Luc Bernette acts as Product Owner. The use of Scrum results in a very good responsiveness (one release every 2 months) and a high level of quality for the final product, together with a great team spirit.

Building from this successful experience, Jean-Luc Bernette is currently looking for other opportunities to run Scrum projects as a Product Owner.
