I’m a software entrepreneur, software development manager, and scrum master, currently working for InQuira as Senior Director of Engineering. I spend my days helping InQuira improve development processes through agile and scrum techniques to deliver quality software used by over 50 F500
companies to power their enterprise search and knowledge portals.
I joined InQuira through the acquisition of Conviveon, where I was cofounder and VP of Software Engineering. Conviveon, a software startup, provided a knowledge management and collaborative application platform designed to be extended by 3rd parties. I ran developer programs focused on putting Conviveons's platform to work, going from bootstrapping to 250+ customers and close to a million dollars in revenue before being acquired by InQuira.
Before starting Conviveon, I joined VerticalNet, a public company backed by Microsoft, as Director of Product Development through the acquisition of NetCommerce Corporation. At VerticalNet, I managed geographically dispersed development teams focusing on integrating equally dispersed technologies brought together through many technology acquisitions during the dot com crazy days.
As VP of Engineering at NetCommerce, I helped create a web based content management solution that took the company from bootstrap to 15 employees with over a million dollars in annual revenue before being acquired by VerticalNet.
Prior to jumping ship to head off to NetCommerce, I worked for AAA where I lead the development team which created AAA's first online presence, enabling access to most of AAA services including travel reservations, tour book data, tripticks, etc. I also helped develop a branch automation system which was deployed to over 1000 branch offices across the US.
I kicked off my working days as a software developer at Valencia Community College, where I developed PC based financial aid and finance solutions which hacked into data locked away in mainframes.
