Christina Murto has over fifteen years experience in the IT industry including project management, systems engineering and operations management. She has solid experience in business process analysis and project management as well as a sound technical background. This mix of business and technical experience has enabled Ms. Murto to quickly grasp both business and technical processes and issues. This has helped her to forge relationships with both business and technical partners and enhance the flow of communication between them.

Ms. Murto began her experience in Northern Virginia IT as a temp with a Reston software company during her final year of college in 1992. A few years later she became part of a team of government contractors and DOD personnel on a program to consolidate the Department of the Navy’s networks and IT operations at the Pentagon. In 1998 she earned her Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE) while working for Electronic Data Systems (EDS). At EDS Ms. Murto also received training in leadership, teamwork and presentation skills which have served her well throughout her career.

In 2000, Ms. Murto participated in the launch of Fairfax-based mindSHIFT Technologies. She used her experience in business process optimization to help define the organization’s operational practices and later to refine them during reorganizations and M&A integrations. Her experience in systems integrations projects included an early adapter hosted Exchange deployment as well as managed desktop, server, backup and monitoring systems migrations. She managed two large projects to upgrade and integrate the company’s CRM, call center, financial systems and customer portal to prepare for the company’s next stage of continued growth.

Ms. Murto was introduced to Agile in 2006 when she joined a local financial services organization to work on another large-scale systems upgrade and integration project. The project encompassed the organization’s website, on-line loan application, loan processing logic, call center workflow and customer portal. The use of Agile practices contributed to the successful delivery of the ambitious scope and timeline of the project.

Ms. Murto’s participation in ever-changing environments during the past decade’s fast-paced start-ups and resource-constrained lean times is balanced by her experience, knowledge and application of proven standards, frameworks and practices. She is a PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP) as well as a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM). Ms. Murto is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), Women in Technology (WIT) and the Scrum Alliance.
