In 2004 I completed a Certificate IV in IT (Client Support) with Spherion (now Computer Power) in Christchurch. I went straight into employment at the end of my training to work for NZI Broker Support with IAG NZ Ltd. After 3 years of managing Broker accounts and processing domestic, commercial and marine policies onto the company's main system POLISY, I moved to Auckland to work for the NZI Marine Centre as a Marine Underwriting Support person.

An employment opportunity arose within the company's Technology Services department. They were seeking someone with experience and knowledge in POLISY to become a Test Analyst. I applied and got the role, and nearly two years into the role I have worked on a variety of projects, also with systems other than POLISY (mainly Access databases), with small and big teams. Currently I am working in the POLISY Business As Usual Stream as Test Lead. Scrum is going to make a huge impact on BAU for the better, and since completing the course, already I have noticed a great change in peoples attitudes and approach towards taking on this new process for the company.
