Martin Oberhuber was born in Salzburg, Austria in 1971. During his broad, humanistic school education, he achieved the most excellent grades on all subjects. He finished education at Graz University of Technology with an outstanding degree in Telematics.
Martin started his professional career in 1998 as a consultant and trainer for object-oriented programming tools and practices. Moving into software development in 2001, he became expert in C/C++, Java, Assembler, as well as several scripting languages.
In 2005, Martin moved into Open Source, leading the Eclipse Target Management Project for Wind River. Through constant engagement, he soon got involved in other Open Source Projects. In 2008, he got appointed Chair of the Eclipse Architecture Council, leading multi-company distributed efforts and talking about Eclipse related technology at large conferences on software. At Wind River, he is leading teams as a Certified Scrum Master and helps rolling out Scrum more broadly.
Personal highlights include playing Volleyball in the First Austrian League, coaching both Junior and Senior Volleyball teams, as well as several leadership roles in church. He married in 2003 and has two kids.
