I have been employed by AT&T for 26 years. I began as a hardware designer with the title of Member of Technical Staff. I successfully transitioned to Software Development shortly thereafter. After serving several developments as project lead, I was promoted to Principal Member of Technical staff in 1997. In 2007, I was promoted to Director of software development for the Mission Management group. In 2008, I hired someone who had the certified scrum master credentials to jump start us onto the path of agile development using scrum. In 2009, I attained both the CSM and the CSPO certification. All of my direct reports are now CSM certified and members of scrum teams.
I received a dual degree from both Juniata College and Pennsylvania State University in 1981. I was awarded a BA in physics from Juniata and a BSEE from Penn State. I went on to receive a Master’s in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Software engineering from Steven’s Institute of Technology in 1987.
I am married for almost 30 years to my wonderful wife and we have three children, Kristie (20), Scott (17), and Bethany (11). We are a homeschooling household which is the method we have used exclusively to educate our children. I am actively involved in our local PCA church, our state homeschooling organization (ENOCH of NJ), and my sideline on-location recording business/hobby.
