Karen M. Buchhagen is a seasoned product management and marketing professional with more than ten years experience.  In her career, she is responsible for developing and managing more than 19 enterprise products and services that include: data center infrastructure, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), managed IP network services, managed security services and wide-area networking services.

Ms. Buchhagen served as the lead product management executive at RealEra, Inc., a leading provider of business intelligence software and web-based services for the commercial real estate and financial services industry from 2006 – 2007.   In this role, Ms. Buchhagen was responsible for structuring the product roadmap, prioritizing feature releases and conducting direct customer research, market and competitive analysis.  She redefined the company business model, user interface and service delivery processes to create an on-demand, multi-tenant product model and introduced subscription and usage based pricing models to attract all sizes of customers. 

Prior to RealEra, Ms. Buchhagen served as a senior product manager at XO Communications where she defined go-to-market strategies, product requirements, positioning, and marketing collateral for several SaaS, data center security products, and application monitoring and management services from 2000- 2004.

From 1998 – 2000, Ms. Buchhagen served as Product Line Manager for Concentric Network Corporation and launched the company’s early forays into the dedicated hosting market with products that included co-location, managed servers and web analytic tools. 

In December of 1998, Ms. Buchhagen was promoted to Director of Product Management where she was responsible leading the development and management efforts of company’s portfolio of network access products including dedicated broadband access, global transit, xDSL, and dial-up services. 

Ms. Buchhagen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, and minor in Business Administration from The Pennsylvania State University.  In April, 2009 Ms. Buchhagen became a Certified ScrumMaster.
