My name is Chris Va'a and I'm a relatively recent convert to Scrum. I started my agile journey a couple of years ago and have spent quite a bit of this time educating and correcting the perceptions out there about Agile. I've only been involved with Scrum since October 2008 and have become quite a fan. In fact, I've stumbled onto something I think is the future of software development because it doesn't tell anyone how to develop software, there's tons of material existing on how to do that. It only shows people any inadequacies in their communication processes, which is the underestimated key in getting working software in my opinion.
Some people experience nervousness and try to overcomplicate Scrum because it seems too simple. I personally thin that Scrum is THAT simple and it's self evident, but the complexities are around solving the problems of the organisation, the project and the product and software development and what I term the politics of Software Development. Scrum in my opinion allows people to get back to their passions in Software, be it developer, business analyst, test analyst or whatever.
I'm looking forward to where this journey takes me and am pleased to have taken the first step...
