Larry Maccherone’s interests include software engineering, software assurance, static analysis, and processes for improvement of software quality.

He is currently working on his PhD in Software Engineering at Carnegie Mellon. His research focuses on agile measurement patterns and visualizations.

His most recent position prior to starting full-time on his PhD was to serve as the Manager of Software Assurance Initiatives for the CyLab at Carnegie Mellon whose goal is the widespread adoption of best practices, tools, and methods for software development so that the resulting product does what it is supposed to do and does not exhibit unexpected behaviors.

To stay on top of new technology, Larry has obtained training and certification in a number of software process and quality practices including the SEI’s Personal Software Process (PSP) instructor, Team Software Process (TSP) launch coach, CMMI Assessor, ISO-9000, Rational Unified Process, and most recently Certified Scrum Master (CSM).  To stay close to the developer community, he periodically takes time out of his normal Carnegie Mellon schedule to conduct training and consulting for developer organizations.
