John Coleman:

Suitable as a hands on agile programme manager/director, head agile coach, head scrum master, or agile change manager. Strong at delivery, training, and coaching.

In current role, driving an agile transformation in a piece of an organization that was typically more rigid and traditional, using both top down and bottom up approaches, but focusing on top-down to get more traction. Did detailed evaluation of ALM tools. Became a bit of an expert on some.

Usually start with Scrum agile project management, and take it from there. Typically coach the delivery roles and senior management, and lead by example.

Excellent at "sniffing out" issues, carrying out root cause analysis, and following through fixes for issues. Talent for insight and making things happen, even without authority.

Held various software development, project management, programme management, IT management, and agile leadership roles.

Technologies varied from mainframe, through PC, intranet including SharePoint, web, wireless, to SAP and mobile apps. Methods included Scrum, Extreme Programming, Lean, and (de-emphasized now by choice) ITIL, Prince II & PMBoK, .

Worked on the link up between British Gas and Nectar. That went live on 31st Jan 2011, and by 21st Apr 2001 had 1.9 Nectar sign-ups, double the original targets.

Had a significant role on a 20 scrum team project in BG later on. That was a very enjoyable troubleshooting, standardization, velocity improvement, and coaching role.

Have taken leading roles in recovering complex projects. Project budgets are typically £10m+ pounds / dollars / euros, mostly in the application delivery area.

Certified Scrum Master Practitioner, currently preparing for Certified Scrum Trainer/Coach. Location isn't an issue. I fly to where the work is.
