Michael Hurst has been active in healthcare-related IT in many roles for over 30 years.  A licensed psychologist, he was on the faculty of BU Medical School for 25 years; created on-line assessment and reporting programs for research and multi-hospital clinical use; and founded the Psychological and Biobehavioral Test Center.  During that time he founded Hurst Associates Inc. (later acquired by Value Health Inc.) and created a DBMS driven clinical and administrative system for tracking and managing capitated care.  He also founded Instream Corporation, one of the first Internet-based provider portal and transaction service companies. Subsequently he was the VP of Product Marketing of deNovis Inc., which acquired the InStream assets and created a language-based payer administrative system.  He resumed consulting at Informatics Consulting Group which was hired by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, who later hired him as a Senior Program and Projects Manager and then promoted him to Corporate PMO Manager.
