Stephen Dakin graduated from Imperial College London with a PhD in Biophysics and degree in Physics, Steve had a successful career in research before moving into software development. This led to the founding of Pinesoft in 1994 with Deniz Said.

Steve was instrumental in the development of the courier system used by Overseas Courier Service, the Japanese global integrator, which to date, has been installed in over one hundred countries and handles hundreds of thousands of shipments each day. He has designed systems used by Secure Mail Services and Business Direct and has developed Case Tool Kits and components that are partly responsible for the on time, on cost delivery of cutting edge solutions that Pinesoft's clients enjoy today.
