NY boy gone south, and not just for the winter! :)  I have 10 years in the IT industry, got my feet wet with Computer Associates, with corporate head quarters on Long Island.  After a few large consulting assignments with CA, I have spent the rest of that time doing large corporate intranet web farm architecture, design, and support.  My interest in SCRUM really came as a corporate initiative to help us better distribute our work and move closer toward a high performing team.
