My career in IT started after I left the University of Oxford with a degree in Physics. I joined the IT Services giant EDS and worked in their "Future Battlespace Capability Group" in Fleet, Hampshire. This job involved a lot of computer modelling and simulation of air-air and air-ground military aircraft operations in both peace-time and war-time events. The objective of the project was to test new radar technology given the expected capabilities of aircraft in the next 10 to 20 years.
After leaving EDS, I joined Tessella plc, a scientific software consultancy company based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. My five years at Tessellla took me all over the country and to a wide variaty of clients in many industry sectors. These included FMCG, oil & gas, transport, defence and publishing sectors. It was during my time here that I can across Scrum and began to use it in projects and see the benefits.
In April 2011 I joined eSight Energy as a Senior Developer and quickly moved into a project management role. The development team were already using some Scrum principles and I have developed the team's skill in Scrum to improve our visibility, communication and productivity within the business.
