Michael was born in Sydney, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1968. His family moved to the Canadian Arctic when he was three years old where he spent his youth and graduated from High School. From there he went to the University of Calgary graduating with a BSc in Computer Science. Michael worked for a while in Calgary and then moved to the US and worked in consulting for many years. Over that time he got married and he and his wife Linda had a baby. With the birth of their child Michael and Linda decided to return to Canada to be closer to family.

Michael works with Quadrus Development as a consultant and intructor. Michael's consulting and training primarily focusses on coaching and mentoring on development processes and architecture/design. Michael is also engaged in sales and marketing with Quadrus. Michael is currently working on some courses and labs for TDD and Agile team dynamics.
