Responsibilities
|
Supporting business: manage requested changes, analysis of requirement, time estimation, executing changes as per plan & coordinating with quality team.
Key focus is on –
- Involved in Upgrade/Migration of MS SQL Server 2000 to 2005, 2005 to 2008
- Database normalization, designing and creating Indexes, Develop Queries and T-SQL Scripts in MS SQL 2005/2008
- Creating Tables, Views, Triggers, Stored Procedures, User Defined Functions (UDF’s) and other T-SQL (DDL, DML) statements for various applications.
- Optimizing the query by creating various clustered, non-clustered indexes and indexed views.
- Designed fully dynamic SSIS packages for migrating data using OLE DB connection from heterogeneous sources (Excel, CSV, Oracle, flat file, Text Format Data) by using multiple transformations provided by SSIS such as Data Conversion, Conditional Split, Bulk Insert, merge and union all.
- Creating Parameterized reports and Linked reports with thorough knowledge of report serving architecture (Table, chart and matrix report).
- Sorting the data, defining data source and subtotals for the reports.
- Used Expressions, Functions and wrote custom code using VB.Net for the dynamic sorting, dynamic visibility and dynamic columns using SSRS 2005.
- Working in various Crystal Environments extracting data from multiple sources, applying several functionalities and used different Data providers like OLEDB, ODBC, etc. Created compelling reports with stunning visualizations using Crystal 2008.
- Involved in archiving old data, writing scripts to move data and update impacted processes.
- Work with DBA to monitor slow running processes, backup and restore database issues.
- Support in refreshing databases between two environments (Cold Load process)
- Understand existing code written in ASP, XML & XSLT and convert to .Net 3.5 using Visual Studio 2008, WCF, jQuery

Awards System is a web-based employee plan management system. Employee plan is used as the firm's people retention vehicle to allow employees to invest in Alternative Investment funds. Alternative Investment funds on the average provide a much better ROI than the market or mutual funds but require the investor net worth to be of a much higher threshold. Employee plan lowers the threshold for the firm's employees and provides investment loans matching employee's contribution. It tracks employee plan participation, including investments and plans ownerships. It processes shares and cost by allocation, distribution, and transfers. It calculates cash and loan balance through new loans, equity contributions, interest calculations, and pay downs.
To live up to the expectation of a true strategic partner to employee plan business, IT needs to upgrade Awards to handle increasing data processing and reporting needs and ensure performance and functionalities.
