Toby Barber qualified with a Distinction in Computer Science at Glasgow University and has since been an IT professional for 13 years (with one short break as a recording artist with Sony Records), working in Scotland and England mainly for the Food & Beverage and the Pharmaceutical industries before being drawn to London to work for Conchango: a medium-sized technology consultancy boasting some of the bright lights in Agile, BI, Microsoft and Open Source development e.g. Colin Bird, Jamie Thomson, Howard van Rooijen and Gavin Dowst - to name but a few. Conchango is one of the thought leaders of Agile, especially in the UK, with close links to Ken Schwaber and Mike Cohn who leads our public CSM courses. Until now, Toby was the best-trained Scrum Master in the world never to have claimed certification, having assisted at Mike Cohn's courses for over a year and having helped Conchango's clients to adopt Agile, including various Fortune 500 companies. Toby continues to work as an Agile Coach, providing training, coaching and mentoring and assisting the Scrum Alliance with the European Scrum Gathering in the meantime, and hopes to extend his work to help develop ever better software, to get Scrum into the mainstream and to advance Agile thinking into the next generation.
