Product Owner at Betfair Ltd
The world’s biggest betting community, offering the pioneering ‘Betting Exchange’ as well as sports betting, casino games and poker to customers round the world. Joined Betfair in August 2011 as a Senior Business Systems Analyst with the responsibilities of an Agile Product owner for 2 teams, one in the UK & one in Central Europe. Maintained a product backlog of User Stories for both teams. Liaised/negotiated across other product development, business & legal teams to deliver integrated products, within agreed timescales. Delivered a robust Account Wallet Management service, capable of supporting all the funding requirements of Betfair’s many Products. Was able to anticipate and deliver functionality aimed at specific products while at the same time offering performance improvements for all clients over existing legacy tools. Delivered a strong set of multi-jurisdictionally compliant customer authentication & session management services, with particular focus on the disparate requirements & processes of a number of foreign legal jurisdictions. Successfully acted as Lead Product Owner on the project to complete the jurisdictional compliance of Betfair’s systems within the Danish licence requirements. Co-ordinated between the project manager and the various individual Product Owners, to ensure all requirements across multiple products & services were delivered accurately & on time.
Senior Software Engineer at AOL (UK) / TalkTalk

AOL (UK) was part of the international AOL/Time Warner media empire. When AOL left the ISP market, that facet of AOL(UK) was bought by the Carphone Warehouse, and subsequently became part of TalkTalk. TalkTalk is one of the UK’s leading Internet and Telephony Service providers. Joined AOL as a Senior Software Engineer and within that remit, have acted as an Agile Java Developer, Lead Developer, Scrum Master and Agile Technical Analyst. Acted as both Development Lead and Scrum Master for the team developing and maintaining AOL’s new business tool for telephony products. In this role, acted as the interface between the AOL Talk business and the development team, converting new business requirements into technical stories as well as feeding technical advice back. Lead the team through a successful major refactoring project, as well as 2 successful data migration exercises. Successfully made the transition from a primarily Agile development role to that of an Agile Technical Analyst/Product Owner, responsible for the successful delivery of an interface between TalkTalk’s core systems and its external suppliers.
