Michael Tardiff has been working with teams to deliver software and services for over two decades, in large enterprises and small startups on both coasts and in Europe. He spent the first part of his career as a technical writer crafting timeless prose, then as a product manager constructing requirements documents that no one would read. As the new millennium dawned, he saw his life becoming measurably and sustainably better when he happened upon XP and then Scrum. He hasn't looked back since.

Michael currently works with teams that want to learn how to use agile methods or use them better. Nothing makes him happier than “hearing development happen” as teams collaborate, pair-program, and resolve issues … except having a beer or two with the team to celebrate finishing a sprint.

Whenever he can talk his employer into paying the freight, Michael attends and presents at agile conferences, including Agile 2008, Spring Scrum Gathering 2008, Agile Open Northwest, Spring Scrum Gathering 2007. At the drop of a hat and a dime, he’ll present/speak/perform feats of skill and agility for you or your group. He currently co-authors an agile advice column and blogs on agile topics, helps coordinate Beyond Agile (a Seattle-area user group for people making software that works), and sails the waters north of Seattle.
