-) Managed and grew software development team to support product growth. Staff has grown to a peak of 20 technical people; functional areas include development, quality assurance, and client documentation. This includes annual review, merit increase, and career development responsibilities for all staff.
-) Defined and managed iterative development process, including Team Foundation Server and SourceSafe source code control, defect tracking using Rational ClearQuest, continuous integration builds, and automated build tracking and reporting. Process matured to include daily builds, automated regression and integration testing, and well-defined quality gates for software releases.
-) Managed 1.0 to 1.5 million worth of development annually. This includes major software and web application releases as well as internal development opportunities and process improvements. Projects varying from six months to 1.5 years in length.
-) Led product management functions of feature selection, release management, requirements definition, etc. Activities included participation in sales and marketing meetings. Managed release projects using MS Project.
-) Managed web application based internal support function for Professional Services and Sales Engineering employees. My department is the acknowledged “go-to” resource for tough or time-critical issues.
-) Reported progress and direction for the Development department at the Corporate Manager and Board of Directors level.
-) Led a successful platform change to a .NET based web application, winforms and .NET XML web services (SOA) architecture. This platform generates revenue of over 5 million per year on the web side and another 4/5 million per year on the shrink-wrapped software side. (Both platforms share a common code base from the Façade layer back.)
-) Acting web application administrator. In charge of implementing production builds, troubleshooting end user issues, as well as configuring .NET and IIS settings to allow for application functionality.
