Brian iBurnett is an established member of the Estimating and Measurement Centre (EMC) who are the Capgemini centre of excellence for software development estimation, project tracking and metrics collection in the UK.

Brian is fully conversant with the principles and techniques that underpin the estimation and measurement (E&M) activities within today's diverse mix of software development and multi shore delivery environments, which include Custom Software Developments (CSD) in both the Rational Unified Process (RUP) and Linear Application Development environments, Data Migration (DM), Application Integration (AI), Business Process Management (BPM), Data Warehousing, Portal and Package solutions (Oracle Applications and SAP).

During his time in the EMC Brian has accumulated a wealth of experience and expertise in the design, development and utilisation of a wide range of E&M toolsets and procedures including: customised bottom-up estimation tools; Use Case Point / Function Point / SLOC based application sizing techniques; detailed procedure definition for estimation, project tracking and project metrics collection; plus an extensive working knowledge of the QSM toolset (SLIM-Estimate, SLIM DataManager and SLIM-Control).

Brian's current position in the EMC is grounded upon a long and successful IT career that provided extensive experience across the entire development life cycle where he has specialised in requirements analysis and definition; functional analysis and specification; technical design and specification; 3 and 4GL application programming; development team leading; system, integration and acceptance test planning, management and implementation.
