Scrum Privacy Statement
Protecting the individual's privacy on the Internet is crucial to the future of Internet-based business and the move toward a true Internet economy. Scrum Alliance has created this privacy statement to demonstrate our firm commitment to secure and trustworthy Internet commerce and the individual's right to privacy.
Consent
If you want to use the Scrum Alliance Certification & Assessment Program, you will be asked for your consent to the collection and use of the information as described here.
Non-Disclosure of Evaluation Data
All Scrum Alliance certification evaluations , including the content and wording of evaluation questions, constitute confidential Scrum Alliance information that is protected by trade secret law. Anyone obtaining access to Scrum evaluations is obligated to maintain the confidentiality of this information.
If an individual is caught violating this Non-Disclosure Agreement that all examinees must agree to before beginning any Scrum Alliance evaluation, the candidate will be permanently ineligible for any Scrum Alliance certification.
By complying with and enforcing this obligation, you help maintain the integrity of the Scrum program and the value of your certification. Please do your part by discouraging the sharing of evaluation questions and making others aware of this policy. We appreciate your cooperation.
This evaluation is Scrum Alliance confidential and is protected by trade secret law. It is made available to you, the examinee, solely for the purpose of becoming certified in the technical area referenced in the title of this evaluation. You are expressly prohibited from disclosing, publishing, reproducing, or transmitting this evaluation, in whole or in part, in any form or by any means, verbal or written, electronic or mechanical, for any purpose, without the prior express written permission of Scrum Alliance.
Use and Purpose of Collected Personal Data
In our Certification & Assessment Program we only store personal information relating to you with your permission. You may choose to reveal information to us if, for example, you register for a certification and or assessment account or complete a survey. We use this information to maintain a personal test account to manage your certification and assessment activities. We may also use your information to determine the effectiveness of our certification products and services.
We would only share such information with third parties outside the Scrum Alliance with your express permission or as required by the applicable law. Information is used solely for the purposes described below.
Privacy across the Entire Scrum Network
As a global organization, Scrum operates a number of websites around the world. Any information that you submit to one of our websites in any one country may be sent electronically to a server for one of these sites in another country. We safeguard your privacy interests around the world by ensuring that this Scrum site adheres to our international data-protection principles described in this statement.

1. What Information Do We Collect and Why?
Cookies
We may use cookies to deliver personalized content, to keep track of your system settings, and to tailor our information offerings to you and others who use the site.
User Registration
If you choose to register for a certification and or assessment account, Scrum Alliance will have the ability to manage your certification and assessment activities. To register, we require your name and a valid email address. Optionally, you may provide us additional contact information. We maintain a record of all user sessions and log on patterns to help ensure a stable learning environment with superior performance.
E-mail Addresses
If you choose to give us your e-mail address, we will communicate with you via e-mail. We do not share your e-mail address with others outside the Scrum Alliance. You are free to opt-out of any service at any time. We primarily use e-mail as a method of communicating system status.
Depending on how your e-mail application is set up, information about you may be transmitted automatically when you send e-mail to Scrum.
Enrollment and Transcripts
Your certification and or assessment account includes information to help the Scrum Alliance to manage your certification and assessment activities. Your account includes enrolment information such as certification, assessments and tests in which you’ve enrolled, progress and completion status, time spent, and scores. Your transcript includes a record of courses you have completed and your results.
Scrum Alliance may use your transcript information to measure the effectiveness of our offerings so that we may continuously improve our products and services.
Online Surveys
Our surveys may ask you for demographic information, such as postal codes or your industry sector. If the online survey collects contact data, we may use that data to send you further information only if we specifically asked for your permission in the survey. You are free to retract any permission you gave.
Duration of Data Storage
We will maintain certification accounts indefinitely and will store your enrolment and transcript data accordingly. We may store your data for up to two years after your account has been closed.

3. Choice/Opt-Out
You can opt out of having an active certification and or assessment account whenever you wish. You only need to email us to have your name and details removed from Scrum’s Global Certification Program database. To opt out or close your account, email us at membership@scrumalliance.org.
