| Intended For | Individuals who will work on a Scrum development team. The course has a strong emphasis on the role of the ScrumMaster. |
| Certification Process | Currently, an individual is certified when he or she has attended, participated in, and completed a Certified ScrumMaster course. If the trainer has opted you in for the CSM exam, you must complete and pass the exam to completed the certification process. |
| Certification Duration | The online Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) exam will launch October 1, 2009. For more details, click here.

| Recertification Process |
To recertify, CSMs are required to pass the CSM exam and pay a $150 recertification fee. |
| Membership Fees |
While membership in the Scrum Alliance is independent of certification, membership currently is available only to those who have attended a CSM or CSPO course. A two-year membership to the Scrum Alliance is included in the cost of attending a CSM course. The membership fee is waived for those CSMs who recertify or who have obtained a higher level certification (CSP, CSC, or CST) after two years. |
