Transportation
How to get to the hotel from the airport:

  • TAXI: Barcelona has 11,500 taxis easy to identify by their yellow and black colour. It takes 15/20 minutes, depending on traffic. Each car accommodates up to 3 passengers.
    • Cost is approximately €15 one way.
  • PRIVATE CAR: Travel between Barcelona El Prat Airport and your Central Barcelona hotel in the comfort of a private car.
  • AEROBUS: The Aerobus service is an express bus service that links Barcelona airport to the city centre. This service normally runs between 6 and 15 minutes within its fixed hours of operation (see official website below for the exact timetable for the Aerobus). You can catch the Aerobus from outside both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The Aerobus will then take you to the city centre where you can alight at Plaza de España   - the stop closest to the hotel, 5 minutes walk approximately.
    • Tickets to both T1 and T2 cost €5.30 for a single and €9.15 for a return (return ticket valid for 9 days).
  • TRAIN: The station is located to the West of the terminal. Trains go to "Sants" Station. From there you can take either the Metro - 2 stops to Plaza de España and then 10/15 minutes walk-or by taxi.
    • Cost is approximately €3 one way.

Experience Barcelona

We've chosen Fira Palace Barcelona in central Barcelona to host the Gathering. Situated between the famous Plaza de España and Gran Via Avenue, in the heart of Barcelona, in an area with a wide cultural offer and excellent communications service to anywhere in the city and the airport.
The weather in October and November is still pleasant but starts to get a little cooler (21°C down to 15°C, 69 to 59F). You won't find sunshine every day though, so be prepared for days when it could be overcast with a little rain.
Add some extra days to your trip and make time to visit some of the sites and attractions that make Barcelona one of the world's premier tourist destinations.

Sagrada Familia by Antonio Gaudi
A Giant Temple designed by the master architect Antonio Gaudi. This building has been under construction since 1882 and they've still got another 30 to 80 years (depending on funding and resources) to go before it will be finished.

L'Aquarium de Barcelona
L’Aquàrium de Barcelona is a marine leisure and educational centre on the moll d’Espanya del Port vell, by the sea. An ideal place to see the sea bed, and particularly the Mediterranean, and a fantastic option for enjoying your free time. In L’Aquàrium de Barcelona, as well as the tanks and the displays, you can enjoy the different services offered (cafeteria / self-service, L’Aquàrium shop, souvenir photo, the auditorium, etc.).

Poble Espanyol de Montjuic (otherwise known as the Spanish Village)This Barcelona attraction is a small Spanish village with different quarters that replicate the style of houses and architecture from different parts of Spain. Poble Espanyol is also home to a whole host of specialist craft shops and workshops where you can see some traditionally made Spanish goods. Poble Espanyol is also the venue for the Famous Flamenco show at tablao de Carmen.

La Pedrera - Casa Mila by Antonio Gaudi
Another one of Antonio Gaudi's, La Pedrera is one of the top 10 most visited attractions in Barcelona. This building used to be called Casa Mila but nowadays it's more commonly known as La Pedrera which means "quarry”. Gaudi was instrumental in completing this building and his characteristic wavy brick work and colourful tiles are also evident on this masterpiece.

Barcelona FC Museum
No surprises here. If you are a footie fan then this museum is a must see. It has wall to wall trophies, pictures and statues of the greats. Even if you are not a football fan, many people still enjoy walking around this museum. When you buy your ticket you have 2 options. You can buy a ticket for the museum and to see the stadium or you can buy a dual ticket where you get to see the museum and behind the scenes at the club e.g. changing rooms, VIP lounge, press conference areas etc.

Picasso Museum
The museum has arranged Picasso's paintings in chronological order from his early days to his final works. Arranging the paintings in this way gives you a fascinating insight into the development of Picasso thinking over time and shows how he developed the distinctive designs that he is famous for today. Very popular art gallery.

Collserola Tower
Like a needle pointing towards the sky, the Collserola tower has been an iconic part of the Barcelona skyline since the year of the Olympics, 1992. It has become a major landmark which combines modernity with the most spectacular views of Barcelona and its surrounding area, from its observation deck, which is the highest in the city.

The Magic Fountain of Montjuic
Barcelona’s biggest ornamental fountain, which was built in 1929 for the International Exhibition, offers a spectacular display of music, water acrobatics and lights which generate over 50 kinds of shades and hues. The Montjuïc Magic Fountain has become one of Barcelona’s most popular attractions and is where the “Piromusical” is held, a true balletic spectacle of water and light.
