Learn the essentials of working as a ScrumMaster or Scrum team member in this course. While the Scrum Alliance provides a list of core concepts that must be covered in the class, each instructor creates his or her own material, allowing courses to differ based on the strengths, interests, and experiences of the instructor.
ABOUT THE COURSE
This two-day ScrumMaster Certification course (conducted in English, with a Chinese-speaking assistant to provide clarifications in Chinese) will provide a comprehensive in-depth training in Scrum theory and practice, taught by a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Trainer who headed Yahoo!'s large-scale adoption of Scrum. The course will cover a range of topics, including modules on: onshore / offshore development using Scrum; using Scrum for contract software development and services; release planning and estimation using Scrum; and strategies for successful corporate adoption of Scrum.
ABOUT THE CERTIFICATION
All attendees who complete the course and pass the Scrum Alliance online exam will become Certified ScrumMasters (CSMs), and will be listed in the Scrum Alliance's CSM registry, and receive access to the Scrum Alliance website's CSM-restricted areas. In addition, all course attendees will receive electronic copies of course presentation and other teaching materials, as well as a selection of Scrum templates, tools, and other resources. Attendees who are Project Management Institute PMP's are eligible for 16 Professional Development Units.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Pete is a Certified Scrum Trainer offering courses in India and Asia through GoodAgile. Pete headed Yahoo!’s large-scale corporate adoption of Scrum, which now encompasses more than 200 projects and over 2000 employees in the US, India, Europe, and Asia. He is co-author of The Scrum Primer (www.scrumprimer.com).
Pete is an honors graduate of Harvard University, and has spent the last 19 years building software and web products at global companies. Pete spent a number of years as adjunct faculty at University of California Berkeley, most recently in the Graduate School of Business, where he received the prestigious Club 6 teaching award.
Pete provides training to a number of companies, including HP, Microsoft, Nokia, Infosys, Wipro, IBM. During his Yahoo! tenure, he served as Vice President of Product Development for Yahoo! in the US, as well as Chief Product Officer of Yahoo!'s 2000-person Research and Development center in Bangalore, India. Pete is based in India and Singapore.
This course will be supported by Bill Li throughout the 2 days. Mr. Li is the Managing Principal of UPerform Consulting Group. As an active and experienced Scrum consultant in China, Mr. Li is the Chinese translator and co-translator of the 2 Scrum books written by Ken Schwaber. As a fluent Mandarin speaker, he is going to provide additional value to participants' learning.
