Learn the essentials of working as a ScrumMaster or Scrum team member in this course. While the Scrum Alliance provides a list of core concepts that must be covered in the class, each instructor creates his or her own material, allowing courses to differ based on the strengths, interests, and experiences of the instructor.

About the Course 

The two day Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) course is an immersive learning experience involving a highly interactive mix of seminars, group discussions, team activities, games and role-plays.

You will learn how to:

• Explain Scrum to the rest of the organisation
• Lead a self-organising team
• Raise the visibility of project status and impediments
• Inspect and adapt both the product and the process
• Facilitate learning and continuous improvement
• Deliver high value releases sooner.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be enrolled as Certified ScrumMasters. This includes a 12 month membership with the Scrum Alliance where additional CSM-only material is available. For Project Management Professionals, this course qualifies as 16 PDUs as approved by the Project Management Institute.

Participants will be served lunch, morning and afternoon tea and receive printed and electronic copies of the training materials.

About the Trainer

Rowan Bunning is a Certified Scrum Trainer and a pioneer of Scrum in Australasia. With a background in extreme programming, object oriented development and scrum, Rowan became Australia’s first Certified ScrumMaster and first Certified Scrum Practitioner. He has built extensive experience leading, coaching, and training organisations in Scrum across Australasia and Europe, including European scrum leader ‘EMC Conchango’. As a Certified Scrum Trainer he has a fantastic track record for running comprehensive and high value scrum courses. His courses include the two day Certified ScrumMaster and Certified Scrum Product Owner courses with associated accreditations with the Scrum Alliance. He also offers one day courses on Effective User Stories and Agile Estimating and Planning as licensed from Mike Cohn of Mountain Goat Software – author of the most popular books on these topics.

Through his company Software WithStyle, Rowan delivers consulting and training helping a diverse range of organisations throughout Australia and New Zealand to succeed with Agile. Frustrated with the substantial waste, poor delivery track-record and lack of trust that he sees on many IT projects, Rowan is passionate about the enormous potential to improve business value, collaboration and productivity through the disciplined application of agile methods. Rowan is highly active in the Agile community internationally and has spoken at several conferences in Europe and North America including the London Scrum Gathering in 2007.
