ABOUT THE COURSE
Course Description
This hands-on, interactive two-day course will teach you:
- How to be an effective Scrum Master
- Improve teamwork
- Launch products sooner
- Improve engineering practices to deliver high-quality
products
Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will be enrolled
as a Certified ScrumMaster, which includes a one-year Scrum Alliance
membership, where additional ScrumMaster-only material and information is
available.
Attendees will be served lunch, morning and afternoon team and receive a
bound copy of the training materials.
Audience
Applicable to all levels and roles including Managers, Designers,
Developers, Testers, Executives, Project Managers and IT.
Recommended reading
No prior knowledge of Scrum or Agile methods is required although some prior
reading is recommended. A good getting started guide can be found at http://www.scrumprimer.com

ABOUT THE CERTIFICATIONAll attendees who complete the
course will become Certified ScrumMasters (CSMs), and will be listed on
the Scrum Alliance website's CSM registry. As Certified ScrumMasters,
they will also receive an individual license, Scrum training materials,
and Scrum templates, and they will have access to the Scrum Alliance
website's ScrumMaster restricted areas. Attendees who are Project
Management Institute PMP's are eligible for 16 Professional Development
Units.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS
Pete Deemer is a Certified Scrum Trainer offering courses through the Scrum Training Institute.
Pete headed Yahoo!’s large-scale corporate adoption of Scrum, which now
encompasses more than 200 projects and over 2000 employees in the US,
India, Europe, and Asia. He is co-author of The Scrum Primer (www.scrumprimer.com).
Pete is an honors graduate of Harvard University, and has spent the
last 18 years building software and web products at global companies.
Pete spent a number of years as adjunct faculty at University of
California Berkeley, most recently in the Graduate School of Business,
where he received the prestigious Club 6 teaching award.
Pete provides training to a number of companies, including HP,
Microsoft, Nokia, Infosys, Wipro, IBM. During his Yahoo! tenure, he
served as Vice President of Product Development for Yahoo! in the US,
as well as Chief Product Officer of Yahoo!'s 1000-person Research and
Development center in Bangalore, India. Pete is based in India and
Singapore.
Gabrielle Benefield is a Certified Scrum Trainer
offering courses in the United States, Europe, Australia and New
Zealand through the Scrum Training Institute. Gabrielle was Senior Director of Agile
Development at Yahoo! leading Yahoo!’s large-scale corporate adoption
of Scrum, which now encompasses more than 200 teams projects and over
1500 employees in the US, India, Europe, and Asia. She is co-author of
The Scrum Primer (www.scrumprimer.com).
Gabrielle holds a Masters of Digital Design from the University of
Western Sydney, Australia and has over 16 years building enterprise
software and web products at global companies. Gabrielle is a regular
conference speaker presenting papers and talks on Enterprise Agile and
Agile User Experience and Design.
