This class is taught by a Certified Scrum Trainer but is not a certification course. (8:30am-4:30pm each day)This is a combined ScrumMaster Certification workshop with an Agile Product Management workshop --- an intense interactive session designed to leverage your experiences so that you can learn the practices of Scrum and Agile Product Management in the context of what you know. The Scrum session is focused on deepening the skills necessary to stimulate the formation of high performing teams. The Agile Product Management session is focused on deepening the skills necessary to best channel that high performance to deliver business results. Scrum is a simple “inspect and adapt” framework; aside from a deep dive understanding of “what is Scrum,” participants will gain a solid appreciation for Scrum’s three roles, three ceremonies, and three artifacts. Product Management focuses on managing and marketing technology products (software, hardware, and services), which is explored from the perspective of Pragmatic Marketing’s proven Pragmatic Marketing Framework and the Product Development and Management Association’s (PDMA) foundational Body of Knowledge (PDMA-BoK); aside from a broad understanding of product management, participants will gain a solid appreciation for how to harness the power of Scrum to deliver business results. This is not mere presentation-based training but a workshop using experiential learning (learning by doing, including robust simulations and discussions). It is facilitated by active practitioners with decades of real-world industry experience, which is used to highlight and expose participants to many common pitfalls. Experiential learning techniques are used to illustrate key concepts in a comprehensive manner that is interactively tailored to the participants’ particular needs. Participants will not only gain a foundational understanding, but will also gain practical insight around the nuances of putting the techniques into practice to maximize results.
