Certified ScrumMaster

All CSM courses are taught by Certified Scrum Trainers. Taking a CSM course, passing the CSM test, and accepting the license agreement designates you as a Certified ScrumMaster, which indicates that you have been introduced to and understand the basic concepts you need to perform as a ScrumMaster or team member on a Scrum team. This course also satisfies two elements of the CSD track: Scrum Introduction and Elective.

Scrum teams maximise value to their customers and users through the regular and frequent delivery of valuable, high quality product features.  Scrum teams build a regular cadence of delivery in short time frames, typically between 1 and 4 weeks for each delivery of a new product increment to their customers and users.

The ScrumMaster plays a pivotal role in the Scrum team, ensuring that the team are effective in their use of Scrum, removing impediments and protecting the team from outside interruptions to allow them to focus on delivering great product.  The ScrumMaster also works across the organisation to promote awareness of how the team are working and to foster cross-funtional collaborative working.

The Certified ScrumMaster training course uses Scrum to teach Scrum and provides an experiential learning experience through the use of stimulating hands on practical exercises as well as real life case studies and in depth discussions of the various parts of the Scrum framework and how the parts fit together.  On completing the course, candidates are required to take a short exam after which, on passing, they will be designated Certified ScrumMasters.  Candidates will then also become members of the Scrum Alliance and can work towards the higher level Certified Scrum Professional designation.
