Certified Scrum Product Owner

3 days: 29–30 October + 26 November

Though each CSPO course varies depending on the instructor, all Certified Scrum Product Owner courses focus on Scrum from a product owner's perspective. Graduates will receive the CSPO designation. All CSPO course are taught by Certified Scrum Trainers.

The Scrum Product Owner must lead the project strategically, collaborate with customers and team on a daily basis, and manage the business value. The Scrum Product Owner takes back the accountability from the traditional project manager for delivering the right solution to the customer and end-user. The CSPO course will provide you with the core of skills to support this new and awesome responsibility.

For 2012 our CSPO course has been extended to three days following a "2+1" day format. This means participants will attend two concecutive classroom days, then return to practice the skills they have learned for four weeks. After this they will return to the classroom for a third day where they will share and deepen their learning.

This CSPO course is intended for those already active in Scrum’s Product Owner role as well as Business Analysts and ScrumMasters/coaches within organisations that have adopted Scrum.

Pre-requisites for attendance are at least one of the following:

  • Active engagement in a Scrum team in the Product Owner role
  • Active engagement in a Scrum team as a Business Analyst (responsible for creating Agile requirements)
  • Previous attendance at a CSM class and experience in the ScrumMaster role.

In addition, it is highly desirable that you have read at least one of Mike Cohn’s books. These are listed in our book list.

A public training class offers significant benefits. You will work with people from different companies, you will share a lot of experiences, you will get to know new people and learn from their stories.
