This course is for Agile Software Development and TDD ON THE JAVA PLATFORM.

This course provides hands-on instruction in the vital Agile software engineering and eXtreme Programming practices that are employed by Scrum teams. Detailed examination and demonstration of Agile development and testing techniques provides a firm theoretical understanding of the benefits and pitfalls of working in an Agile team. Practical exercises based on working case study scenarios enable delegates to explore and experience Agile development and testing first hand, giving them the level of true understanding required to employ the techniques successfully back in the workplace.
This course course will benefit software developers and testers who wish to employ Agile software development practices using the Java platform. The course is also available for .NET - however this course is based on Java only. It is highly recommended that delegates attending this course have a prior awareness and understanding of Agile team practices, including User Stories and Iteration Planning.

About your Trainer:
Chris Pitts is an Agile Software Developer, Team Lead, ScrumMaster and Coach who has been working in software development teams since the early 90s. His recent technical development experience is with Java, Groovy and Grails, including particular expertise in Test Driven Development (TDD) as well as using automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit and various mock frameworks. Crhis trains teams in Agile techniques rooted in Scrum, XP and Kanban resulting in highly self-organising and collaborative behaviours. His teams iteratively deliver successful, high-quality, working software. He is also a skilled facilitator capable of helping teams review their performance and improve. He has worked in many different engineering disciplines, including media, medical, defense and finance, and is capable of rapidly learning new domains.

Chris is a certified Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the IET.

Certified Scrum Developer Certification:
Successful completion of the course can be credited towards the newly introduced Certified Scrum Developer certification. This 3-day course fulfils the technical skills requirement of the Certified Scrum Developer track. The final two days of the Certified Scrum Developer track are usually fulfilled through attendance on a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner course. Peter Measey and David Hicks, RADTAC directors, provide CSM/CPSO training on a regular basis, both during the week and over the weekend.

Booking Policy
Bookings are confirmed on receipt of full payment in advance of the course.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made more than 7 days prior to an event will not be refunded - instead the delegate will be given the option to transfer to a course on an alternate date.
Delegates who cancel their reservation less than 7 days prior to an event will incur a charge of 50% of the course fee; the option to transfer will still be available to such delegates.

Transfer Policy
RADTAC’s recognition of today’s fast-paced business world means that registered participants are permitted to transfer onto an alternative course once at no extra cost. However, each transfer after that is subject to an additional fee of £100 + VAT, payable within one week of invoice. In the event that RADTAC is unable to deliver a course on the date planned, a full refund of the pre-paid fee will be provided. However, should an event need to be cancelled due to circumstances out of RADTAC's control (adverse weather conditions, acts of terrorism, geographical incidents), a re-scheduling of the course will be initiated, rather than a refund being issued. RADTAC is not responsible for any additional costs or losses the client may incur as a result of unforeseen events.

Delegates attending this course must have a prior awareness and understanding of Agile team practices including User Stories and Iteration Planning. Those delegates who are already Certified Scrum Masters or certified Scrum Product Owners will be eligible for Certified Scrum Developer status on completion of this course.
