Training + Certification

Though each CSPO course varies depending on the instructor, all Certified Scrum Product Owner courses focus on Scrum from a product owner's perspective. Graduates will receive the CSPO designation. All CSPO course are taught by Certified Scrum Trainers.

Led by Pete Deemer, author of The Scrum Primer.  Pete specializes in working with teams in India doing distributed Scrum. He is a founder of the Scrum Foundation, which is headed by Dr. Jeff Sutherland, the co-creator of Scrum.  He has provided Scrum training and coaching to some of the largest companies in the world, including services companies such as Infosys, Wipro, TCS, and Cognizant and product companies such as Nokia, Ericsson, GE, and EMC. Pete is an honors graduate of Harvard University, and has spent the last 22 years leading teams building software-based products and services at global companies.  Most recently he served as Vice President of Product Development for Yahoo!, where he led Yahoo’s global adoption of Scrum, which grew to over 2000 developers worldwide during his tenure.  He has also spent a number of years as adjunct faculty at University of California Berkeley, where he received the prestigious Club 6 teaching award, and he is currently a visiting lecturer at the prestigious National University of Singapore.

ABOUT THE COURSE

Our two-day Certified Scrum Product Owner course will prepare you to be an effective and versatile Scrum Product Owner.

The course format is divided equally between lecture, discussion, and exercises, with frequent opportunities to ask questions and discuss real-world situations.

In addition to covering the role of the Product Owner and Scrum theory and practices, the course also includes coverage of the following topics: release planning and estimation in Scrum; managing Scrum projects to successful and on-time delivery; being successful with multi-location (distributed) development using Scrum; creating Agile requirements with User Stories; and strategies for successful introduction of Scrum into your organization.

ABOUT THE CERTIFICATION

All attendees who complete the course and pass the Scrum Alliance online exam will become Certified ScrumMasters (CSMs), and will be listed in the Scrum Alliance's CSM registry, and receive access to the Scrum Alliance website's CSM-restricted areas.  In addition, all course attendees will receive both hard-copy and soft-copy versions of the course presentation and other teaching materials, as well as a selection of Scrum templates and other resources.  Attendees who are Project Management Institute PMP's are eligible for 16 Professional Development Units.

COST
