Certified ScrumMaster

All CSM courses are taught by Certified Scrum Trainers. Taking a CSM course, passing the CSM test, and accepting the license agreement designates you as a Certified ScrumMaster, which indicates that you have been introduced to and understand the basic concepts you need to perform as a ScrumMaster or team member on a Scrum team. This course also satisfies two elements of the CSD track: Scrum Introduction and Elective.

During this two-day Scrum training all aspects of Scrum will be covered, both in theory and practice. The training will introduce the Scrum values and principles and the way in which these contribute to the success of your project. You will also take part in a 1-hour Scrum project which allows you to gain practical experience.

Some of the topics that will be discussed are:

• The metrics offered by Scrum (Product Backlog, Burndown Chart)
• How to introduce Scrum without the need to drastically change your organization
• How to scale a Scrum project from one team to multiple teams in a distributed (off-shore) environment

Following successful completion of the training, you will become a Certified ScrumMaster. This certification includes a one-year membership of the Scrum Alliance where additional ScrumMaster-only material and information is available. You will also receive a membership to nlscrum, the biggest Scrum User Group in the Netherlands.

New certification procedure

The Scrum Alliance is eager to ensure ScrumMasters' credentials are recognized as a meaningful and valuable proof of competency and that they attest to current knowledge of Scrum. Therefore, from 1 October 2009, Certified ScrumMaster participants will need to take an online exam within 90 days to become certified.
