Learn the essentials of working as a ScrumMaster or Scrum team member in this course. While the Scrum Alliance provides a list of core concepts that must be covered in the class, each instructor creates his or her own material, allowing courses to differ based on the strengths, interests, and experiences of the instructor.
This course will be co-taught by Geoff Watts and Paul Goddard who, together have extensive practical experience of Scrum teams. Learn the Scrum framework for an agile project and the essentials of working as a ScrumMaster or Scrum team member. Through a fun mix of theoretical explanation, problem exploration and practical exercises, this 2-day course will equip attendees for their first Scrum project or enable them to reflect on their projects and become more agile. Attendees will learn, through doing and questioning, about Scrum concepts and artefacts such as the Product Backlog, release planning, Sprint planning, the Daily Scrum and burndown charts. They will also learn that, despite being a simple framework, it is deceptively simple as Scrum requires discipline and hard work to be effective. Each aspect of the Scrum framework is explained in terms of its principles, its relation to the rest of the framework and is supplemented with stories of real-life examples while also giving the attendees the opportunity to explore the concepts in fun, practical case-studies. Questions and conversations are encouraged throughout and there is also a dedicated Q&A session to explore the concerns and practical queries. As Certified Scrum Trainers we are approved by the Scrum Alliance and have had experience of Scrum implementations small, medium and large, coming up against and resolving many barriers to Scrum along the way.
The core agenda of a Certified ScrumMaster course is set by the Scrum Alliance and will cover all of the aspects of the Scrum framework and lifecycle. These elements will be augmented by the individual Trainer's experiences and specific areas of interest can be accommodated so please contact us. A standard agenda would look like: What is Scrum?
Anyone interested in starting a Scrum project or wishing to improve their current Scrum implementation. Naturally intended for those taking on the ScrumMaster role, it is equally useful for any Scrum team member. |
