    Course Description

Building a quality product, with the right features, on the right platform with an engaging user experience is the difference between building a product that delights customers and satisfies needs or building something that has all the bells and whistles, yet fails in the marketplace.

As one of the largest and fastest-growing agile frameworks, Scrum is a simple, yet powerful way to manage product requirements, elevate quality, and accelerate project delivery. One of the key roles in Scrum is that of Product Owner, the person tasked with setting and communicating the product vision, the one who ultimately determines what product experience is delivered.

The BigVisible Certified Scrum Product Owner course is a two-day, hands-on workshop, filled with practical advice and time-tested techniques designed to give students the foundation they need to succeed using Scrum. The CSPO course offers a detailed examination of the Scrum project lifecycle and the product owner role, going beyond the basic definitions to focus on how to achieve success as a product owner with Scrum. Course delivery is varied for optimal learning, with activities ranging from case study analyses and in-depth lectures, to hands-on exercises and interactive games. Each person will leave this course empowered with practical, applicable advice and skills they can immediately apply once they return to the office.

    What People Are Saying…

”I took your Certified Scrum Product Owner Training in May 2011 and got to put your training into practice on two software projects over the last year.”

”Just want to thank-you again. As I mentioned towards the end of our session, I took away more than I anticipated, especially around self-organization and other items that speak to our organization, to begin asking further questions.”

Though each CSPO course varies depending on the instructor, all Certified Scrum Product Owner® courses focus on Scrum from a product owner's perspective. Graduates will receive the CSPO designation. All CSPO course are taught by Certified Scrum Trainers.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I buy a seat with a Purchase Order?

Yes, we will accept purchase orders. Please email us at Training@BigVisible.com to arrange for payment via a purchase order. Unfortunately, due to the timing of payments, we can not extend the "Early Bird" discount to individuals or groups paying by purchase order.

Do I get a copy of the slides for a class I take?

All participants will get a printed copy of the slides on the day they show up for a class.

Do classes count as credit for Professional Development Units (PDUs) for the PMP certification?

Yes, our classes are relevant to project managers and are eligible for PDUs. BigVisible is a PMI Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.). The general guidance is that every hour of relevant content within a class counts for a PDU, as such, a 2 day class would count for 16 PDUs.

How do I get my certificate and who issues it?

Students taking classes offering Scrum certificates (Certified ScrumMaster and Certified Product Owner), will receive their certifications from the Scrum Alliance. Included in these classes is a one-year membership with the Scrum Alliance. Shortly after completion of the class, participants will get an email from the Scrum Alliance indicating they are now members. This membership includes access to exclusive content and the ability to print a copy of any Scrum certificates they have achieved.

What are the benefits of taking a class to learn about Agile & Scrum as opposed to simply reading books and articles on the topic?

Reading a book or other sources of written information about Agile & Scrum are valuable resources and we strongly encourage potential students to leverage these resources. Our training classes are designed to reinforce concepts with in-depth simulations and robust discussion. All of our course blend lecture, practice, and reflection. This allows participants to gain a much more profound understanding of the subject matter.

What do I need to bring to a class?

Our classes are designed to be a stand-alone experience and do not require participants to bring anything to a class other than an open mind and willingness to learn and perhaps something to take notes.

What time do classes start and how long do they go each day?

Unless otherwise stated, all of our classes begin at 8:30am and run to 5:00pm, local time. Classes generally include a break for lunch around noon, as well as a brief break in the morning and afternoon.

What happens if a class is cancelled?

In the case that a class is canceled by BigVisible, participants are entitled to transfer to another class or receive a full refund at their discretion.

What is the cancellation policy for a seat I've already purchased?

Public training participants who cancel their registrations up to 30 days prior to the registered class will receive a full refund of the registration fees paid. In the event of a cancellation within 30 days of the scheduled class, registrants will receive a credit towards a future class. If a cancellation is made within 14 days of the scheduled class, the participant will be charged a 30% cancellation fee and the remaining registration fee will be credited towards a future class. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice prior to a class start, or registered participants who do not attend the training without providing prior notice, will be not be eligible for a refund or credit and will be charged the full amount of the registration. All cancellation requests must be made via email to training@bigvisible.com . BigVisible reserves the right to amend this policy at any time as well as review cancellation requests on a case-by-case basis in the event of family or health emergencies, hardship cases etc.

What is the average size of a class?

Our goal is to keep classes large enough that there is meaningful interaction among participants, but small enough so that everyone gets the attention of the instructor. Generally speaking, we aim to keep most classes sized between 8 and 16 participants. We do cap classes at 25 participants.
