Scrum is the fastest growing Agile project management methodology. The success of an Agile team comes from their ability to stay focused around iterative development and incremental delivery. This course is structured to help you understand how to prioritize and control the requirements of an Agile Project as a Product Owner. The responsibility of an Agile Project falls in the hands of the Product Owner and the challenge becomes, how to evaluate and control delivery, communicate across delivery teams, and make the final decisions of when to approve requirements. The best Product Owners are committed to a strategy of constantly improving the software delivery cycle across the organization. With this certification course, the Product Owner learns how to plan for success.

This course presents that basics of Scrum and focuses on the responsibilities of the Product Owner role. We cover the framework from the PO perspective, emphasizing creation and management of the Product Backlog, Release Planning, Working with User Stories and working with the Team. Other topics include elaboration of User Stories, finding help outside the team and relationships with stakeholders. We touch on Agile approaches to gathering requirements and models for budgeting Agile projects.

This class is largely student driven. It is highly interactive and draws on techniques of Accelerated Learning. Come prepared to participate.

Though each CSPO course varies depending on the instructor, all Certified Scrum Product Owner courses focus on Scrum from a product owner's perspective. Graduates will receive the CSPO designation. All CSPO course are taught by Certified Scrum Trainers.
