    Course Description

As one of the largest and fastest-growing agile frameworks, Scrum is a simple, yet powerful way to boost team productivity, elevate quality, and accelerate project delivery. The BigVisible Certified ScrumMaster course is a two-day, hands-on workshop filled with practical advice and time-tested techniques designed to give students the foundation they need to succeed with agile fundamentals and Scrum.

The CSM course offers a detailed examination of the Scrum project lifecycle and the ScrumMaster role, going beyond the basic definitions to focus on how to achieve success as a ScrumMaster and with Scrum. Course delivery is varied for optimal learning, with activities ranging from case study analyses and in-depth lectures to hands-on exercises and interactive games. Each person will leave the class empowered with practical, applicable changes and improvements they can immediately apply back at the office.

    What People Are Saying…

”Just want to thank-you again. As I mentioned towards the end of our session, I took away more than I anticipated, especially around self-organization and other items that speak to our organization, to begin asking further questions.”

”It was very good meeting you and being in your class for the past two days. I have learned a lot and would love to review the material and map out a plan for myself to use it.”

All CSM courses are taught by Certified Scrum Trainers. Taking a CSM course, passing the CSM test, and accepting the license agreement designates you as a Certified ScrumMaster, which indicates that you have been introduced to and understand the basic concepts you need to perform as a ScrumMaster or team member on a Scrum team. This course also satisfies two elements of the CSD track: Scrum Introduction and Elective.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I buy a seat with a Purchase Order?

Yes, we will accept purchase orders. Please email us at Training@BigVisible.com to arrange for payment via a purchase order. Unfortunately, due to the timing of payments, we can not extend the "Early Bird" discount to individuals or groups paying by purchase order.

Do I get a copy of the slides for a class I take?

All participants will get a printed copy of the slides on the day they show up for a class.

Do classes count as credit for Professional Development Units (PDUs) for the PMP certification?

Yes, our classes are relevant to project managers and are eligible for PDUs. BigVisible is a PMI Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.). The general guidance is that every hour of relevant content within a class counts for a PDU, as such, a 2 day class would count for 16 PDUs.

How do I get my certificate and who issues it?

Students taking classes offering a Scrum certificates (Certified ScrumMaster and Certified Product Owner), will receive their certifications from the Scrum Alliance. Included in these classes is a one year membership with the Scrum Alliance. Shortly after completion of the class, participants will get an email from the Scrum Alliance indicating they are no members. This membership includes access to exclusive content and the ability to print a copy of any Scrum certificates they have achieved.

What are the benefits of taking a class to learn about Agile & Scrum as opposed to simply reading books and articles on the topic?

Reading a book or other sources of written information about Agile & Scrum are valuable resources and we strongly encourage potential students to leverage these resources. Our training classes are designed to reinforce concepts with in-depth simulations and robust discussion. All of our course blend lecture, practice, and reflection. This allows participants to gain a much more profound understanding of the subject matter.

What do I need to bring to a class?

Our classes are designed to be a stand-alone experience and do not require participants to bring anything to a class other than an open mind and willingness to learn and perhaps something to take notes.

What time do classes start and how long do they go each day?

Unless otherwise stated, all of our classes begin at 8:30am and run to 5:00pm, local time. Classes generally include a break for lunch around noon, as well as a brief break in the morning and afternoon.

What happens if a class is cancelled?

In the case that a class is canceled by BigVisible, participants are entitled to transfer to another class or receive a full refund at their discretion.

What is the cancellation policy for a seat I've already purchased?

Public training participants who cancel their registrations up to 30 days prior to the registered class will receive a full refund of the registration fees paid. In the event of a cancellation within 30 days of the scheduled class, registrants will receive a credit towards a future class. If a cancellation is made within 14 days of the scheduled class, the participant will be charged a 30% cancellation fee and the remaining registration fee will be credited towards a future class. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice prior to a class start, or registered participants who do not attend the training without providing prior notice, will be not be eligible for a refund or credit and will be charged the full amount of the registration. All cancellation requests must be made via email to training@bigvisible.com . BigVisible reserves the right to amend this policy at any time as well as review cancellation requests on a case-by-case basis in the event of family or health emergencies, hardship cases etc.

What is the average size of a class?

Our goal is to keep classes large enough that there is meaningful interaction among participants, but small enough so that everyone gets the attention of the instructor. Generally speaking, we aim to keep most classes sized between 8 and 16 participants. We do cap classes at 25 participants.
