    Successful Scrum project delivery relies on all members of the Scrum team to understand each other’s roles and responsibilities and ensuring that they work together as a self-organising team to meet the project objectives on time and within budget.

    In this special 3-day workshop authored and delivered by Scrum and Agile Project Management expert Martine Devos, attendees will learn about the role of both the Scrum Master and the Scrum Product Owner and how people in these roles work together to deliver successful agile projects. The course is therefore aimed at attendees that will be taking on either role or those that would benefit from Martine’s expertise in helping them decide which role they would be most suited to within their organisation’s development team.

    Martine's interest, research and experience has focused on planning and estimation techniques and as such this workshop covers Agile Estimation and Planning techniques in particular depth.

    The course is highly interactive with plenty of opportunity to gain practical experience through a number of team games and exercises compiled and facilitated by Martine. The 3 days special allows her to provide both roles with the topics to gain the Certification and add enough time to offer the chance to apply these skills within a project exercises where the Scrum Masters, Scrum Product Owners (and teams) can see how they can work together effectively. Martine will mentor the teams to ensure that they leave the workshop confident and ready to apply their new skills!

    Successful completion of this course will lead to the delegate being certified by the Scrum Alliance as either a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO). At the end of the course, after exploring both the CSM and CSPO roles in depth, you will choose which certification you would like to have. Certification benefits include a year’s free membership to the Scrum Alliance with access to exclusive information plus the authorisation to use the Scrum Alliance member logo.

    Delegates will also receive a copy of Agile Estimation and Planning during the course. In addition, please note that this course leads to 21 Professional Development Units (PDUs) as approved by the PMI (Project Management Institute)

    • Create a realistic release plan
    • Stock the product backlog, write user stories and refine requirements
    • Increase productivity, level the workload, and steer the project proactively
    • Use Scrum to maximize value creation, improve customer and employee satisfaction as well as engineering practices and tools
    • Assume the responsibilites of a ScrumMaster or Scrum Product Owner
    • Improve the accuracy of estimation and planning
    • Improve the engineering practices and tools so each increment of functionality is potentially shippable


    All CSM courses are taught by Certified Scrum Trainers. Taking a CSM course, passing the CSM test, and accepting the license agreement designates you as a Certified ScrumMaster, which indicates that you have been introduced to and understand the basic concepts you need to perform as a ScrumMaster or team member on a Scrum team. This course also satisfies two elements of the CSD track: Scrum Introduction and Elective.

    To benefit from this workshop, you should have some prior experience using Scrum and Agile methods on projects. If you do not have this prior experience, we recommend attendance of Rachel Davies' Scrum Primer course before coming to this ScrumMaster course.

    You will also benefit from reading Agile Project Management with SCRUM (Microsoft Professional) by Ken Schwaber, prior to attending.
