The training consists of a lot of practical exercises combined with sound theoretical backing. The exercises aid the participants to master the theory. During the two-day training the roots of Agile and Scrum are explained, what the fundamental differences are with the traditional approach and why it works! After the training the participants are capable of applying Scrum in their projects. Marco is a seasoned Agile coach armed with many years of experience. During the training he shares war stories related to the adoption and implementation of Agile and Scrum within numerous companies. This is always highly appreciated by the participants.

All CSM courses are taught by Certified Scrum Trainers. Taking a CSM course, passing the CSM test, and accepting the license agreement designates you as a Certified ScrumMaster, which indicates that you have been introduced to and understand the basic concepts you need to perform as a ScrumMaster or team member on a Scrum team. This course also satisfies two elements of the CSD track: Scrum Introduction and Elective.

  • Agenda

To demonstrate Scrum in action and to adapt the training to the particular interests of the participants, Scrum itself is used to teach Scrum. As a participant, you are stakeholder and your input is used to create and maintain a Product Backlog with learning goals. While working on these learning goals with interactive exercises and presentations, the training will thoroughly cover all that is needed to pass as a Certified Scrum Master. Because of the adaptive nature of the training, the agenda is not always the same but typically the training topics are as follows:

    • Agile Manifesto
    • Scrum Foundations
    • Roles
    • Meetings
    • Product Backlog and user stories
    • Estimating and Planning
    • Definition of Done
    • ScrumMaster Challenges
    • Scrum Adoption
    • Scaling Scrum
    • Scrum Simulation game

  • Who Should Attend

The CSM training is targeted for (potential) ScrumMasters and therefore puts emphasis on all things related to the effectiveness of the development team. This includes retrospectives, team coaching, resolving organizational impediments, waste elimination and  common Scrum pitfalls. The Scrum Master is responsible for the Scrum process and typically has empathic skills and a strong affinity with software development. He or she balances time and attention between the organization, the team and the Product Owner all depending on the specific needs of the moment.
