Biography

Yvonne Kish is an agile coach with Rally Software in Raleigh, NC.  She helps organizations around the world bring higher quality products to market faster, run leaner, boost profits, and enhance their business value while delighting customers.  Leveraging her Agile subject matter knowledge with deep QA, project management, training, and consulting expertise, Yvonne leads start-ups to Fortune 100 companies in translating their product vision into market-ready reality by designing tailored solutions for optimal ROI.

After graduating from Old Dominion University with a BS in Computer Science, Yvonne excelled in diverse software engineering roles that laid the foundation for the strong information technology mastery that she brings to all her projects. As an early, passionate adopter of Agile methodologies, she is widely respected for her collaborative, relationship building approach and her genuine interest in the success of her team, and ultimately her client’s unique mission.

When not traveling to exotic locales that have included Bora Bora, Rwanda, Australia, and New Zealand, Yvonne enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, and gourmet cooking.

~ Collaboratively worked with technical leads to create and design a process framework and process implementation toolkit for a new Call Center product line.
~ Successfully transformed problematic software engineering processes utilizing agile methods to identify horizontal slices of functionality in multiple iteration releases in a release plan. Iteration releases ultimately gave the teams much improved product development efficiencies and faster time to market.
~ Led planning meetings at the beginning of each iteration to identify the highest priority items to work in the iteration, and conducted daily meetings on iteration progress with the team.
~ Designed and conducted an interactive demo and training for the staff at the end of each iteration for new features and components in the process toolkit.
~ Worked towards continuous product integration, and identified highest priority features to maximize ROI and customer satisfaction for new product line.
~ Facilitated a retrospective meeting with the team to obtain feedback on the iteration for both process and product. Utilized a survey tool to obtain feedback from others across the company as well. ~ Primary lead on a complex, integral FDA software development, data security, HR, Finance and IT compliance audit for a Fortune 100 pharmaceutical client. Audit completed successfully with huge compliments on the process improvement efforts across the company in all departments.

~ Partnered with Dr. Tom Sheives, President of the Unstuck Company, to build the business for the Specialty Project Management courses for Agile, including “Agile Project Management with Scrum.” Co-teach this very hands-on workshop style class with Dr. Tom Sheives. Workshop goal is to provide team-based learning with interactive exercises to simulate preparing for and completing a scrum cycle and how agile projects fit in the organization with traditional project management.

~ Presented as an Agile Project Management SME instructor for the University of Texas School of Management Graduate Program. Conducted interactive course thru scrum exercises emphasizing PM components of Agile.
