Valentina Powers is a long-time project manager in the digital media world with many years experience directing and managing technical teams in the development and implementation of digital products.
As the Director of Digital Operations at New York Public Radio, Valentina oversees the daily operations of the Digital team, including Project Management, Analytics and Quality Assurance. During her tenure in the digital department, Valentina has managed the development and deployment of multiple digital products, including website launches and redesigns of WNYC.org, WQXR.org, Radiolab.org, Studio360.org, OnTheMedia.org, thegreenespace.org and TheTakeaway.org She also oversaw the migration to a new CMS platform, the development of six mobile apps including Radiolab, WNYC and WQXR, the development of the online pledge application and an open-source Django crowdsourcing application.
Recently, Valentina trained in Agile Project Management and SCRUM, and has since implemented Agile techniques in the workflow of the digital department as well as helped socialize Agile throughout the organization. An Italian native, Valentina came to the U.S. to study Foreign Languages and Literature at Clark University and subsequently received a Masters in Communications from Boston University. Prior to her work in Digital, Valentina worked in Public Radio as a producer and in Education as an editor.
