Uwe Schmitz is a Certified Scrum Practitioner and a passionate Scrum Coach. He has 15+ year background in Software- and System-development.
Starting as a Software Developer Uwe took his journey as a Project Lead, Quality Manager and Development Process Responsible. During these “early years” he mainly used classical approaches based on CMMI, SPICE and other quality models.
The world changed in January 2005, after having joined an excellent CSM training by Ken Schwaber. Infected with the virus called “Scrum”, Uwes’ way of working started to be quite different. Finally Uwe arrived as a facilitator who helps developers and all level of management to succeed in Software and System development using agile values and methods.
However “just helping” others to introduce Scrum inherits the danger to have one's head in the clouds. So in parallel Uwe continues to work as a ScrumMaster, this role which Ken Schwaber once described with: “…probably the least loved person ….” ;-))
Together with Peter Beck, Uwe founded the Scrum User Group Rhein-Main in Germany to foster the application of Scrum.
Uwe worked for companies as Siemens, BenQ, Mitsubishi Electric and companies in the Automotive area.
