I'm Tom Weinberger and I am a 31 year veteran of IT working as a change agent wherever I go.
I have had a varied career beginning as a mainframe assembler programmer in teleprocessing, and graduating to managing several types of IT organizations, and my experience includes general management and company responsibilities for a couple of $20M software companies. He has managed or directed multiple QA groups, development groups, several data centers, customer service call centers and even marketing and sales.
My experience is varied, including transportation, health insurance, general life and casualty insurance, real estate software and systems software used by as many as 250,000 daily customers. I have big and small company IT experience and has led many commercial and business development projects as a master project manager.
Much of my efforts have been on managing the organizational change necessary to focus my teams on the best manner of creating software while delivering cost effective, timely, quality deliverables. This has manifested itself through adoption of quality and development best practices and methodologies that are both practical and pragmatic.
I have focused my efforts for the last ten years on being a student of the Agile methods and the Rational tools. He is a Certified RUP Solution Designer, and a certified SCRUMmaster. He has led several companies like AAA of Northern Ca, Nevada and Utah, BP-AMOCO, Grainger.com, State Street Financial and SEARS though successful Enterprise level RUP and Rational Tool adoptions. These companies represent approx. 700 to over 2500 IT staff – including global development efforts.
He is also adept at using the Rational Method Composer product (or its sister product EPF) to implement these changes and uses his considerable organizational change management skills to get teams to change their behaviors to produce quality softeware on a timely basis.
Tom is one of the Co-Chairs of the Chicago Rational User Group (CRUG) and is a Global Rational User Group (GRUG) council Member.
