Biography

Travis Birch has been a partner at Berteig Consulting Inc. (BCI) since January 2014.  He joined BCI as an Agile Coach in 2008 and since 2012 has held the position of Senior Agile Coach.

During his time at BCI, he has contributed to the work of helping several organizations and many individuals in their efforts to transform their world of work.

Travis focuses on the deep cultural transformation that is required for successful implementation of Agile frameworks.  To this end, he is a facilitator of collaboration towards shared understanding and unity of purpose—essential cultural characteristics of high-performance teams and organizations.

Some of the organizations where Travis has helped with Agile transformation include:  Myplanet Digital, Bruce Power, Government of Ontario, Aimia, Bank of Montreal, Rexall, RIM (Blackberry), Royal Bank, Nortel and TV Works (Comcast).

Travis has a unique perspective on organizations and communities. Formally trained in classical ballet (a long time ago), he has had an international career in dance working with other dancers, choreographers and dance company managers honing his ability to work with a broad spectrum of personalities, cultures and organizational dynamics. Travis is also a trained community development facilitator, again working with many organizations across the globe as well as locally. Travis started working with agile methods in 2006 when he became a Certified ScrumMaster and has specialized in agile retrospectives, agile as a learning system and working served in the role of ScruMaster for the Berteig Consulting team.
