As Director of Engineering at Pinger Inc, Suhas is responsible for majority of Engineering at Pinger including the Pinger Web Services infrastructure, Data Warehousing and Analytics. Suhas has helped bring modern agile processes to this mature startup and has made key hires. He has overseen numerous product releases, infrastructure and process improvements and organizational changes during his leadership.
Prior to joining Pinger, Suhas was the Director of Engineering at Berkeley Quantitative. He was responsible for overseeing all areas of software engineering for the company. Utilizing strong leadership skills and innovative problem-solving strategies, Suhas brings an accomplished, multi-faceted approach to his current leadership role. He was responsible for overseeing the design, development and delivery of software that automated trading and was deployed to trade millions of dollar every day.
Prior to joining Berkeley Quantitative, Suhas was Lead Software Engineer at Progress Financial.He was directly responsible for the software service infrastructure, including design, development, operations, and supervision. Under his leadership, the software service infrastructure supported the company’s impressive 10X growth in business. As the Lead Engineer, he built robust software processes, architected the load balancing to ensure continued availability of the system, coordinated multiple releases, and led the team that built Progress Financial’s first-ever integration with a banking system. Suhas championed and introduced open source products to cut costs and maintain better control of features, managed integration of sensitive financial and personal data, and recruited top-notch candidates for the company’s engineering department.
From 2005 through 2008, Suhas was with 8x8 Inc a leading provider of Internet voice and video services where he served as Director of Software Development. He played a vital role in the engineering and growth of Virtual Office, which went on to become the flagship product and primary source of revenue for 8x8. He oversaw the growth of this product ten-fold and was directly responsible for all new features, maintenance, and critical fixes. Additionally, he provided key technical recommendations on potential partners for 8x8, analyzed risk and provided estimates, and authored multiple proposal, architecture, and design documents. He assembled a diverse team of outstanding engineers with zero attrition and coordinated the efforts of sales, operations, and customer support staff, promoting a cohesive work environment and favorable profit margin.
Suhas’ extensive experience also includes several lead software engineer positions, at Alcatel-Lucent, Coriolis Networks, Hewlett Packard, and Tektronix. In these positions, he developed software for new products, acquired and implemented the latest technologies to improve productivity and customer satisfaction, actively employed Agile Scrum methodologies, and was among a select handful of engineers to develop patented technology that is now being used by broadcast studios across the United States.
